Mr. Fort & MeadWestvaco Donate to MOIS

Mr. Chester Fort has made a major contribution to MOIS, and MeadWestevaco has matched his donation.  Last year, Mr. Fort and MeadWestvaco sponsored our spring outdoor movie night and gave us a grant to pay for materials that the Airborne School used to make storage cabinets for our classrooms.  This year, Mr. Fort and Mead contributed even more.  In addition to $600 for the spring outdoor movie, they are providing $16,00.00 to purchase STAR Math software to help us improve math scores.  Their contributions not only help to improve our school academically, but also they help to bring our parents, faculty, and students together through the movie nights.  If you see Chester Fort during one of his frequent visits to the school, or around Ft. Mitchell, take a minute to say, "Hi!" and let him know how much we appreciate his help.

Honor Roll Students Complete First Wings Jump

On November 14th, more than 200 Mt. Olive Intermediate School students who made the A-B Honor Roll for the first quarter jumped from the 34' tower at the US Army Airborne School, which is one of MOIS's most supportive Partners-in-Education.  The event is held after each report card period, and is open to students who have distinguished themselves in the previous quarter.  In May, students who have completed five jumps will participate in the Airborne School's graduation ceremony and receive airborne wings from the school's commander, LTC Carl Bergman.  Parents of students who have qualified to jump may also jump from the tower, and several moms did so.
